Good news for BlackBerry smartphone users in the United States on T-Mobile, at least if you're a fan of search giant Google: The wireless carrier will soon swap out the Yahoo default search option within the BlackBerry Browser for Google's industry-leading search engine, according to MocoNews.net and other reports.

One repots say that as of nine am EST this morning that still hasn't happened, contrary to a number of news reports.

Case-Mate has recently expanded their FUEL lineup with a holster for the Bold 9700, offering even more battery life to what seems to be the most energy-efficient BlackBerry to date.

By using the external charging contacts, the Bold plugs into the holster’s 2300 mA battery, which can either continually keep your phone topped-up, or engaged by a switched for when you really need the extra juice. FUEL provides 9 hours talk time, 250 hours standby, 7 hours internet use, 8 hours of video playback or 24 hours of audio playback.

Research In Motion Ltd. debuted a new Web browser for BlackBerries today, promoting it as easier and faster to use.

The new WebKit browser (available this year) will download files quicker and display Web sites better, co-Chief Executive Officer Mike Lazaridis said yesterday in an interview from the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain.

RIM needs to improve browsing to win consumers in a market crowded with devices, said Steven Li, an analyst at Raymond James Ltd. in Toronto. Four months ago, RIM debuted a revamped version of the Storm -- a larger-screen BlackBerry for easier browsing -- to respond to mixed reviews of the first version and competition from smartphones like Apple Inc.’s iPhone.

Its official! RIM has a Twitter app of thier own! Yesterday RIM handed out invites to certain indiviuals to test the application, but as usual.... it got leaked. Thanks to theiexplorers...who leaked the link... we can all download the application and give it a try. Will this twitter application compete with the other apps? Is it better than other twitter apps? Only time will tell. In the mean time we have the link for everyone to download the RIM twitter app and give it a try.
